I have been using BB for years for home projects and use Atlassian Sourcetree for basic commits and tracking changes. I have both a BB atlassian accounts. I thought they were one and the same thing.
Sorry if this is real idiot stuff. I can write complex C and Javascript code but struggle to understand systems like this.
I am totally at a loss to understand the recent emails about transferring repos to atlassian account. I thought they already were.
Please can anyone explain in easy to understand form how I tell what repos are at risk and what I need to do about them?
Hi @coppo86,
I checked the email address you used to make this community post and the Bitbucket Cloud account with that email address doesn't seem to be affected by this.
Do you have a Bitbucket Cloud account with a different primary email address where you received this email?
If so, can you log in to https://community.atlassian.com/ with this other email and leave a comment here? I will then be able to view your other account's email and look further into this.
Kind regards,
Theodora
Thankyou.
In the end i created a new Atlassian account under a different email address and workspace userid and moved all the repositories accross to that one. Seems to have worked fine so I am now ok thanks.
Going back to the first days I had a bitbucket account under the <domain_removed> domain email. At some point after that I created an Atlassian account on the same email and got completely confused between them!

Hi @coppo86,
Just to give you some context, back in 2016 we started the process of linking Bitbucket accounts to Atlassian accounts. Atlassian accounts are the ones for https://id.atlassian.com/ and they are now used for authentication when you log in to https://bitbucket.org/ from your browser. There are some users who haven't logged in to their Bitbucket account since we started these migrations in 2016, and as a result, their Bitbucket account is currently not linked with an Atlassian account.
If you are using Bitbucket Cloud now and can log in to https://bitbucket.org/ and access repos, workspaces, etc, then your Bitbucket account is linked to an Atlassian account. However, you may have been granted access to repos whose owner hasn't completed this migration.
We sent this email to users who have been granted access to such repos (whose owner hasn't done the migration) as these repos will be deactivated.
If you want me to check whether the other Bitbucket account you use has access to such repos, please feel free to log in to https://community.atlassian.com/ with the email of your other Bitbucket account and leave a comment here, then I can check and let you know if you need to take any steps.
Just a heads up, I removed the domain from your post to protect your privacy.
Kind regards,
Theodora
