How do I migrate users from Bitbucket internal directory to Active Directory?

Currently the users are added in Bitbucket internal directory.

I have configured AD setup in the Bitbucket server and now I want to migrate all those internal Bitbucket users into this AD group.

I googled a lot, but no luck.

Can anyone please help me on this.

Hi Arjun,

You will need to manage these users on the Active Directory side rather than in Bitbucket Server.

I have my users in Bitbucket Internal Directory. Now i want to have AD authentication enabled in Bitbucket.

Already there are many users in Bitbucket now. Now how I can manage the users in Bitbucket now.

Also we are planning to have SSO from apache redirection. So i want all the users to be migrated from Internal Bitbucket Directory to AD configured.

Is there a way for that kind of user migration?

Hi Arjun,

Your existing Bitbucket Server users in the internal directory will stay in the internal directory - adding an Active Directory-based directory doesn't change anything about that, and you will continue to manage these users in Bitbucket Server.

If you want your users to authenticate using Active Directory, you will need to ensure these users are in that Active Directory in the first place and you can manage these users in Active Directory.
