"Sending mail failed. Please verify the mail server configuration and check the logs for details." Where is the log on Windows 2012 server? It is not in the Atlassian/bitbucket folder.

Inside of %BITBUCKET_HOME%/log there will be a atlassian-bitbucket.log and atlassian-bitbucket-mail.log files that should contain more information about why the test mail did not send.
Scott, here is a TechNet article on using telnet to test SMTP. This will determine if the problem is server or app level.

Sorry, but you did not answer my question, in the context. My context is "Bitbucket". The question was: where is the Bitbucket log for the mail connection? The "Test email" button failed but it did not say why it failed.
