How do I copy Postgres database to test server.

We want to test a BitBucket 4.11.1 to 5.x upgrade on a test server. We have installed BitBucket Version 4.11.1 (configuring to use internal database) and Postgres on a test server. We have restored a copy of the production Postgres database to the test server. What configuration can we do on the test server to point to the restored test database? We do not want to run a data migration; do something like shut down services - adjust some sort of config file - restart services.

Hi Kevin! You can find the configuration you need in the article Bitbucket Server Config properties.

If you have already copied your DB, then all you need to do is update the jdbc.url property to point to the copy of the database.

Hope this helps :)

Ana

Thanks Ana. That is exactly what we were looking for. (bitbucket.properties file located at BITBUCKET_HOME\shared). We also need to shut down the services on prod and copy over the entire BITBUCKET_HOME folder to the test server as well.
