How are you keeping sync and sharing ignored files with other developers?

My question is how are you sharing ignored files between other servers and other developers. We ignore big files like uploaded images, and other assets, but I find they are still very necessary at times to keep in sync.

Sometimes I'll ask other developers, can you send me the sql file, or send me the asset folder, but then it defeats the purpose of git and we're back to ftp'ing unsynced files to each other.

How are you guys keeping ignored files shared with each other? I wish there was a good way to do this similar to git but without having to keep all of those big files inside a repo.
