My team has noticed today that our deployment variables set in deployments are no longer overwriting the repository variables for our pipelines.

We have verified the issue across 2 repositories. We have made no changes to our yml config or deployment scripts and we can verify everything was working 4 days ago.

To Replicate:

  • Create a deployment in BB settings.
  • Set a ENV with the name the same as one in Repository Variables
  • echo the ENV var out in the pipeline
  • It will show the ENV var from the Repository Variables

Would love if someone else can verify this for me.

Cheers!

G'day, @Daniel Peterson

I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end, and so far, I can see that Deployment variables will overwrite the Repository variables as expected.

I wonder if there's anything specific happening here that causes the issue. Could you create a support ticket with us at our Support portal to investigate the issue further?

Regards,
Syahrul
