Haven't logged in for a while, and can't access my account

I haven't used bitbucket for a while as I haven't worked for the client I was using it for, for about 8 months.

When I go to log in, for some reason I am asked to create a username. When I try to enter my existing username, it says its already taken.

This is definitely the email address I used to create the account.

What do I do?

Hi, @Jeremy Corbett, welcome to the community!

I see you have created an internal ticket with us and shared the username you used to have in Bitbucket Cloud. Checking this username, we can see this is not linked to the email you used to create this question. What might have happened is that the email you are using now was configured as an alias in your Bitbucket account, and then when you accessed it using this address, you were redirected to create a new BB account.

With that said, as the email you used to create this question is not the owner of this Bitbucket Cloud account, we cannot share this information with you as email addresses are private data.

If this account belongs to you, you can try logging in to Bitbucket.org with any of the emails you may have used for this account.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Caroline
