Gitlab to bitbucket migration

Hi team ,

 

we are migrating from Gitlab to bitbucket what are the prerequisite to migrate? can we migrate al the repos at once what are challenges we might face when migrating

thank you for reaching out to Community!

You can make use of the import repository feature in Bitbucket Cloud to import your source code and all the history of your repository from a different git provider, such as Gitlab. The following article provides instructions on how you can start the import : 

Each repository will need to be imported individually.

It's important to note that the import only includes the git content of the repository. Any metadata such as pull requests, comments, etc, will need to be recreated manually in the UI.

Also, the users and permissions are not included in the transfer, meaning that the workspace/repository permissions will need to be manually recreated on Bitbucket side (learn more on Grant access to a workspace).
