My workspace ID is "workspace-id-redacted" and when I try to change the ID to "workspace-id-redacted" I get this error:

"This workspace ID is not available"

How do I resolve this so that I can change the name.  Not that the workspace is brand new and has no repos in it yet.  That will change quickly.  Thanks!

Hello @steve adler

Based on my knowledge, the error indicates that the workspace ID you’re trying to use is already taken by another workspace, even if it’s not visible to you.

Unfortunately, Atlassian doesn’t allow duplicate workspace IDs. You’ll need to choose a unique ID, and I’d suggest trying slight variations of your preferred name, like adding a number or abbreviation.

Hi Steve and welcome to the community!

A workspace ID needs to be unique across our userbase. If you are not using this ID and you get this error, this means that another user has created a workspace with this ID. You will need to use a different ID that is available, as Sahir suggested.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Just a heads up, I removed the IDs from your post for privacy reasons.

Kind regards,
Theodora
