GIT LFS can't push and pull

kokhow.teh November 25, 2019

On "git lfs pull", I get:

Object does not exist on the server: [404] Object does not exist on the server

On "git lfs push origin --all", I get:

(missing) src/some_file_name (c466bb10506eb1404a0746d50069eaacb96abe736bb3351a81a29e1dea5d47c2)

How do I recover from this?

Hello @kokhow.teh

Thanks for reaching out.

It looks like there's an "orphan" LFS pointer file, as in there's no relevant file neither in LFS storage nor on your local machine.

I'd guess someone working on the same repo forgot to upload that file. If you can figure out who created/updated its pointer, they might still have that original file in their local copy of the repository and be able to upload it. If the file is lost, rolling back to the previous version or removing it are probably the only options you have.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Daniil
