Execute schedule only if new commits

Orlando Krause January 27, 2021

What I need, is to execute a pipeline once a day and only if something changed.

Is there a way to configure pipelines to execute on schedule only if there is new commits from the previous scheduled build?

Hi Orlando,

I'm afraid that at the moment this is not possible.

There is a feature request for this in our issue tracker:

I would recommend adding your vote by selecting the Vote for this issue link as the number of votes helps product managers better understand the demand for new features. You are more then welcome to leave any feedback, and you can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.

Implementation of new features is done as per our policy here https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/implementation-of-new-features-policy-201294576.html and any updates will be posted in the feature request.

In the meantime, one suggestion I can make would be to create a custom pipeline (these don't run automatically) that you trigger manually once a day if there are new commits. I understand this creates extra work if there is a large number of repos where you want to do this, but this way you can avoid scheduled builds when there are no new commits.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Theodora
