Error when installing app from URL on bitbucket cloud.

Kamil N June 6, 2020

Hello,

I've decided to develop an app for Bitbucket. I have been trying to complete a getting-started tutorial but there is an issue with installing app.

Installing using this window

image.png

and this url: https://bitbucket.org/site/addons/authorize?addon_key=example-app2&redirect_uri=https://02b71578af6c.ngrok.io

always gives me the error:

"The add-on server wasn't able to authorize your request. Try again, or contact the add-on vendor for help."

I can't find any information about this error. My app name and url are correct

My app is visible in develop apps tab

Hi @Kamil N

That text field accepts URLs for an Atlassian Connect descriptor. This lets you install Atlassian Connect-based apps in Bitbucket without needing to register them. The URL will look something like https://xxx.ngrok.io/atlassian-connect.json

The /authorize URL you mentioned is intended to be navigated to directly in the browser, not supplied to this text field. It is a different way of installing apps in Bitbucket than going through the Install dialog.

Hope this helps!

Michael
