In my Bitbucket project is it possible to disable merge button in merge requests for selected user or a user group?
No. Everyone with write access to the repository can hit the merge button.
It's important to realize the rational behind this. Everyone with write access to the repo can simply clone the repo, perform the merge of the 2 branches locally and then push up again. So disabling the merge button on the site would not give any form of access control.
Hey Nip, You can use the branch restrictions feature to limit commits to branches to specific users and groups.
