Create a webhook in Bitbucket Server and skip certificate validation

Gabriel Mongeon November 10, 2017

We want to use the BitBucket Server webhook functionality without using SSL Certificate. The Cloud version does have the Skip certificate verification option but not the Server version, blocking us from triggering our webhook to our other Intranet application.

Is there a way to deactivate this function?

Hi Gabriel, If you do not wish to use an SSL certificate you can simply specify a "http" protocol type in the URL input of the webhook form.

i.e. you would specify http://www.example.com instead of

https://www.example.com

What if the site only works on https and not on http in that case how can we skip the ssl certificate?

I agree that specifying http protocol isn't always possible

I have similar use case, internal site's end point supports only https. Is there any solution to this problem? Is it possible to use REST API call to disable the ssl verification.

@rikf any update on this?

I am using Bitbucket Data Center version v8.2.0, and still there is no "Skip certificate verification" and not possible to use the HTTP
