Could it be possible to configure rate limit by user or repo or any other way to avoid rate limit ?

Jose Carlos Ordaz February 2, 2020

Hi, I've being doing some tests fetching pull request commits using the bitbucket api.

The endpoint I'm using is `https://api.bitbucket.org/2.0/repositories/MYTEAM/MYREPO/pullrequests/1/commits`

I've used two different tokens.

One token comes from my personal account and the other one was provided and comes from Bitbucket Cloud as well (not on premise tokens)

I've done more than 1,000 requests with my personal token in less than an hour and it doesn't hit rate limit errors.

But when using the other token i hit the rate limit error.

I've read the documentation and it seems that the api should give me the rate limit when using my personal token as well. This is the link https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/rate-limits-668173227.html#Ratelimits-Requestlimits

1.- Could this be a bug in the api?

2.- Could it be possible to configure rate limits by user or a repo using a different Bitbucket Cloud Plan?

3.- Maybe I am not understanding how the rate limits works? I've read this as well https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/Bitbucket-REST-API-Rate-Limiting/qaq-p/737597

4.- Could it be possible to have different results with different parameters?

5.- Could I ask to the other token source to change some settings in order to make this work as my personal account?

I'm more interesting in see if I can make the provided token behave like my personal token :)
