Connecting Oracle via LDAP Connect String

Jens Rapp February 1, 2021

Hi there, we're running our atlassian products on top of oracle databases.

A few years ago, we changed db service connects to ldap connect strings (don't ask me) so, my database connect string looks like
jdbc:oracle:thin@ldap://oracle-ldap-server:3060/DATABASE_SERVICE,cn=OracleContext,dc=our,dc=company,dc=here

I could manage to move this by just entering the connect string as database url in config files of confluence and jira. This worked because most of my db configuration was already insite these configs.

Now we got Bitbucket and i'm running on local database since all kinds of connect strings that i try to input into the database url field in bitbucket don't work.

I guess I have to configure it manually- but i don't know what changes to make in config file.

By the way, it should be possible to use ldap configuration for oracle database connect because this is the way of handling many oracle servers (as our database magicians say)
