Change Hostname of Self Hosted Bitbucket on AWS

Kevin Gordon November 28, 2020

Hey folks,

Question for everyone. I'm trying to change the hostname of my EC2-instance running Bit Bucket, and keep hitting a well.

  • I've allocated an elastic IP from Amazon to the instance (IP address access works fine)
  • I've added an A record to my DNS for the server
  • I've updated /etc/sysconfig/atl to add my hostname "repo.domain.com"
  • I've updated /etc/sysconfig/network to add the hostname
  • I've added "repo.domain.com" to the /etc/hosts file
  • I've run atl-update-hostname.sh
  • I've rebooted the instance

Every time I try to access "repo.domain.com" I get connection refused - even though the update hostname script updates NGINX with the correct info.

What am I missing? Maybe it's the after midnight sleeplessness talking, but it must be something simple!

Thank you :)
