Cannot log into Bitbucket

Matt February 19, 2024

Hello, I cannot log into bitbucket.  I used to be on a while back and now I cannot log in. When I google this issue, I see that it sometimes occurs when my account is deactivated and needs to be re-activated.  I'm not sure if there is another go-around for it.

Message I get reads as follows

We couldn’t log you in
You may run into this issue when you use specific browsers or add-ons that hide the referer header for id.atlassian.com and other Atlassian sites. Check for these and then try logging in again.

Hello @Matt ,

thank you for reaching out to Community!

Your account was indeed inactive due to a long period of inactivity.

I went ahead and set it to active again, so you should be able to log in and access Bitbucket Cloud as usual now.

In case you are still facing any issues, please let us know so we can assist you further.

Thank you, @Matt !

Welcome to the community @Matt !

Yes, you are correct that the account needs to be reactivated. This is a standard procedure that Atlassian, when accounts are not active for some time, they get deactivated.

Sadly, there is no workaround for this rather than raising a ticket for Atlassian.

I will also tag them, to get this ticket a higher visibility.

Much appreciated!
