Cannot clone repo with CLI. Authentication issue.

saibogutech April 14, 2018

Hello,

I am testing Bitbucket for my company but so far, it's a big fail because I can't even clone a repo! (sorry, after an hour of this, I'm just frustrated)

I created a repo on the Bitbucket site. I click the clone button and copy the HTTPS command. Paste it an run it in the terminal and if fails with "Invalid username or password. If you log in via..."

I do log in with Atlassain which uses Google.  Entering the Google password doesn't work.  There's a note to "make sure an account password is set" but:

1. How do I do that?

2. Considering using this for my team, how would I keep my password private?  This is using my google account.

While I still cannot log in with the owner account, I found a way to make this work. I invited my other google account and used that one.  For whatever reason, the userId and password actually worked as expected for this.
