Cannot access to my online bitbucket repository anymore

Eke March 7, 2023

Hi,

I cannot access to my online public repository anymore (https://bitbucket.org/eke/genesis-plus-gx/). A 404 error page is now displayed saying the repository is not found. The repository is visible in my dashboard (under https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/repositories) but it links to same error page. Same for watched issues under https://bitbucket.org/dashboard/issues?section=watching). Looking at https://bitbucket.org/account/workspaces/, there is no visible workspace.

I was unable to submit changes from my local repo for some time (since authentification process for git changed in bitbucket and I never managed to find basic step by step instructions how to use new authentification method) but was still able to access my repository online and manage issues, downloads, etc... a few weeks ago.

Can someone explain me why this is happening and how to make my repository visible again ? I do not remember receiving any email from bitbucket telling me this repository/workspace would be deleted or not be visible online anymore.

Thanks in advance

Hi admin,

I am facing the same problem right now. Could you please help me with this? I cannot access my Bitbucket; it says the repository is not found, even though the Administrator has granted me access to the workspace.

Hi,

Your Bitbucket account doesn't have access to any repositories. When an administrator gives you access to a workspace for the first time, you will receive an email invitation. You need to open the email with the Bitbucket invitation and follow the link inside the email to accept it, so that you get access.

If you still experience issues, please create a new question in community via https://community.atlassian.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/bitbucket-questions and we will look into it.

Please create a new question instead of posting here, as an existing question can become convoluted and difficult to follow when we try to troubleshoot different issues from multiple users.

Kind regards,
Theodora

How are you trying to log in to your site? Username and password?   Atlassian account?

Eke March 8, 2023

I don't really know the difference, I am currently loggued to my atlassian account with my username and my password.

Not sure why it matters though, I should be able to see my repository even without being loggued as it is a public repository, but as you can see, loggued or not, it is not visible to anyone anymore (I was actually warned by one user as I also have a github repository which links to common wiki pages in the bitbucket repository).

It matters a bit because it determines who we need to tell you to talk to about the problem.

As it is an Atlassian account, we can narrow it down a lot - you need to talk to the administrators of your Bitbucket account, probably asking why they have removed you from it.

I think there is some confusion here. I am the sole administrator of my bitbucket account, which I created years ago to simply share personal project sourcecode and builds (as an alternative to googlecode when it was closed). I didn't even knew there was a difference between atlassian and bitbucket account, for me it is the same thing.

Anyway, my problem is that my bitbucket repository is not accessible anymore (to me or anyone) and when I log into my bitbucket dashboard, I can still see it in my repository list but it links to an error page and it seems like I don't have any workspace anymore,  although I didn't deleted anything.

Is there anyone from atlassian team who can tell me what has happened and if it is fixable ?

There's no confusion.  You have been restricted away from your repository by another admin, or it has been removed (due to inactivity, not paying the bill, or an admin removing it)
