Can i add subprojects inside a project?

I need to archive some repositories inside a project.

So i would like to add a subproject Archive and move the repositories into this

subproject. The repositories shall stay besides the original project, moving them to

another project is no option...

Nope, Projects are single level only. 

You could rename the old repositories or add a description to highlight they are archived.

I would be extremely helpful to me to have an "organization" that contains multiple projects which in turn contain multiple repos. Is there a feature request to Atlassian for this?
