Bitbucket Repo - Unable to Find User to add to Permissions

Lexi

User has an account.

User is added to other repos in the system.

When I type his name he will not come up in the search list.

When I type other people's names they come up in the search list.

I saw 2 other posts for this same issue with no answer from several years ago.

What else can I try?

Hi Lexi,

Can you please confirm if this concerns Bitbucket Cloud (repo URL starting with https://bitbucket.org/)? I see that your question has the tag 'bitbucket-cloud', but I don't see any Bitbucket Cloud account with your email address, so I just want to make sure that's the product you are using.

If this issue indeed concerns Bitbucket Cloud that you are using with a different email address:

  • Can you please confirm if you are going to Repository settings > Repository permissions > Add users or groups? Is this where the user doesn't show up when you type their name, or somewhere else?
  • Something may be out of sync in our systems with this user and their permissions. I can try to sync, but I need to know who that user is. Can you ask the user to log in to https://community.atlassian.com/ with the email of their Bitbucket Cloud account and leave a reply here in this post? No need to mention their email address, I will be able to see it if they leave a reply in the post.

Kind regards,
Theodora
