Bitbucket Pipelines - Dependency Download Timeouts

Hello,

We've been having some issues where our pipelines will time out attempting to download dependencies in our build/compile steps. This has happened with increased frequency this week, in particular. It's currently preventing us from pre-staging our releases.

Below is an example of one of our steps that times out attempting to download the Gradle distro: GradleTimeout.png

This issue seems to be intermittent, and through no intervention on our behalf eventually our pipelines will start working again. Every time we run into the issue I check the Bitbucket status page and all services appear to be operating normally.

My primary question: Is there anything we can do on our end to mitigate this? When the issue occurs it usually affects all jobs that have egress requirements to retrieve dependencies/packages accessible via internet. Our internal-only pipelines have never had timeout issues. I know we can look into optimize our caching strategy for dependencies, but the risk remains in the event we have new dependencies to retrieve.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @Nick Wenner ,

welcome to the Community!

Checking internally I see you have access to a workspace with an active subscription which is entitled to Premium support. In this case, I went ahead and created a support ticket for this issue, as we'll need more details about your setup to further troubleshoot this.

You should be receiving the ticket link in your email soon. In case you don't receive it, please let me know, so I can share it here (the ticket is only visible to you and Atlassian).

Thank you, @Nick Wenner !
