Bitbucket Pipeline with Merge Checks

I have a bitbucket pipeline configured to run on pull request creation. My pipeline succeeds when the pull requests are created but my merge check condition for "1+ build passed" does not update when the pipeline succeeds, and therefore I cannot merge. What am I missing in my pipeline configuration to update this merge check upon successful build?

In order to avoid any confusion that may arise from discussing the same issue in multiple places, I would suggest focusing the discussion on the internal ticket.
