Hey there,
we have sent a bitbucket invite to one of our clients and now he got back after 5 months and claims, that he has never received it.
Is there a chance to check the bitbucket log in order to proof that we have sent the invite to them but they didnt accept it that time?
Thanks for your help!
Hello Andre and welcome to the Community!
Finding how to locate when a users invite was sent from Bitbucket is a great question. The answer is not a simple one though. It first depends on if you’re using Bitbucket cloud or server.
For Bitbucket cloud:
There used to be an endpoint which you could use (It’s still available until April 2019) that would allow you to gather information on when a user was invited and when the invitation was sent. This endpoint may be found at invitations Resource. This should allow you to find what you’re for but remember that the endpoint is full deprecated on April 2019. Since this is being deprecated, there is also nothing in place to replace it. More about the deprecation notice may be found at Deprecation notice - Bitbucket Cloud REST API version 1 is deprecated effective 30 June 2018.
For Bitbucket server:
The is allows for Public sign up, but nothing for sending out invitations. This means that someone would have had to manually email the person in question a link to sign themselves up for Bitbucket.
With all this said, it sounds more like you’re using Bitbucket cloud and sent the invitation. Meaning there is still time to query the API endpoint to find when the invitation was sent to the user.
I hope this proves helpful in finding when you sent a user their invitation to join Bitbucket.
