I have successfully established the connector, associated Jira project key and bitbucket repository URL and added the suggested post-commit URL on the bitbucket POST service: /BitbucketPostCommit.jspa?projectKey=&repositoryUrl=
However, I only see relevant commit messages in the issue, if I use Force Sync link
This can happen if your JIRA instance is behind a firewall that the Bitbucket service cannot reach. Even with the newer version of the conenctor, your instance needs to be reachable from the public internet. Check out the section of our doc labled How the connection appears in bitbucket for what URL the connector is attempting to access on your instance. If this URL isn't available to the outside of your firewall, you won't get automatic updates when you push into Bitbucket.
If you are using JIRA OnDemand, you should open a support request as it should be accessible.
