The backup process of source code in Bitbucket and how the restoration is done for a particular workspace or a repository in case of any unexpected deletion.
How can we retain the backup file and what is the procedure?
Hi @ITHELP
Welcome to the community!
I believe our KB below has all the information needed regarding how Bitbucket backup your repositories:
Does Bitbucket backup my repositories?
That said, do note that our backups are for disaster recovery purposes only. We cannot use our backups to restore repositories that an end user has deleted.
However, On rare occasions, our Support team can help recover core repository content only, as long as the deletion happened within the last 7 days. We are unable to recover metadata or any content that was deleted past 7 days.
Cheers,
Syahrul
