Hey @Jaydeep Panchal ,

and welcome to the Community!

The error message suggests the credentials you are using are either invalid or they have expired. Based on the description, it seems like you are using a git GUI, so I would like to ask you for a few more details:

  • Could you confirm if you are using a git GUI (e.g Sourcetree, GitKraken, etc) ? If yes, which GUI is it?
  • Can you share what action you are trying to execute when receiving that error (clone, push, fetch, etc)?
  • Are you using HTTPS or SSH to interact with the repository? If HTTPS, are you authenticating with AppPassword, Access tokens, or OAuth?

With this information, we'll be able to assist you further.

Thank you, @Jaydeep Panchal !

Patrik S

Hi Pratik,

I'm using HTTPS  to interact with the repository and authenticated with AppPassword.

Thank You!

  • Can you share what action you are trying to execute when receiving that error (clone, push, fetch, etc)?
  • Can you share a screenshot of when you received the error?

Hello @Jaydeep Panchal ,

Thank you for providing the information.

After some research, I found other users reporting a similar behavior when using GitHub Desktop app, and a bug was created for the developers of that tool:

I would suggest following that thread to verify when a fix is released for that tool, and make sure you keep the tool updated to the more recent version to ensure you get the fix once it is available.

Thank you, @Jaydeep Panchal !
