Hi,

After using BFG to delete large objects Bitbucket started displaying a warning about the archive being larger than 1Gb.

I ran BFG over a week ago.

I saw some answers about Atlassian manually running gc. Not sure if this is the right location to ask but just trying.

Hello @Richard van der Klooster,

Thanks for reaching out.

Git runs garbage collection in different modes and not on every repository update, so yeah it might take quite a while for it to catch up with your changes.

As per this guide, the right way is to raise a support request. However, I think I figured which repository you were talking about and kicked off GC for it – the repo reduced to ~16Mb. If my blind guess was wrong, please open a support case pointing to the repository you meant.

Cheers,
Daniil
