Organizing repositories

Edited

Is there ever going to be a way to arrange repositories in bitbucket in a hierarchy greater than project -> repo?

The current state of affairs in Bitbucket means that project folders can fill with hundreds of repositories, and the name of the repository has to encapsulate it's structure, which can be confusing when you have multiple projects reusing these repositories.

Gerrit/Gitlab and CodeAurora all allow a natural folder hierarchy for grouping repositories (which is depended upon in larger non-monolithic developments).

There is no way (for example) I could host a mirror of AOSP on Bitbucket.

It seems Bitbucket is not really targeting these kind of projects? Is there a reason for this?  Are there any plans to add a feature for adding repo hierarchies, or will Bitbucket always be flat?

My Android 11 project has 760 git repositories and not being able to use folders is very frustrating. i know there are work-arounds but they are tedious. Atlassion has known about this for years and not addressed it. You can expect silence from them
