BitBucket moves to the cloud - Setting AWS local zone

Hi all,

as lots of other product, Atlassian-Bitbucket also wants to go 100% into the cloud.

A request (or should we say prerequisite) of our customer is that the the source code does not leave our country (in this case Switzerland). Currently we use the BitBucket server version for that reason and if we one day are forced to go to the cloud this has to be guaranteed. We also use Jira and Confluence and there it indicates that the region is "Frankfurt and 4 others" - When will it be possible to connect BitBucket to a specific local AWS location. Would also appreciate this for Jira & Confluence btw...

Regards

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Are you talking about Bitbucket Cloud or Bitbucket Server?

If you're talking about Server or Data Center, we have a an AWS Quickstart available that allows you to deploy the whole thing into a region of your choice - see https://aws-quickstart.s3.amazonaws.com/quickstart-atlassian-bitbucket/doc/bitbucket-data-center-on-the-aws-cloud.pdf for details.

Of course you can also just deploy everything using EC2 instances yourself.

Cheers,

Hi Christian,

we currently use Server (on premise) and want to eval Data Center, as Atlassian wants stop selling the on premise server in the future.

What I understood from the Quickstart guide is that we can use our own AWS account to store the data and in 2022 there will be a AWS Region Zürich. So this answers my question.

THX
