If you mean to send notification about failed build to slack or email, you could setup after-script:

      name: Build

        - echo "Main logic here... If step failed slack-notify pipe will send a message."
      after-script:
        - if [[ BITBUCKET_EXIT_CODE -eq 0 ]]; then exit 0; else echo "Step failed"; fi
        - echo "Step failed"
        - pipe: atlassian/slack-notify:1.2.0
          variables:
            WEBHOOK_URL: $WEBHOOK_URL
            MESSAGE: 'Hello, world!'
