Switching from local agent to remote agent licensing

We are interested in switching from local to remote agent licensing. I was looking into evaluating, but it looks like we have to download an evaluating copy of Bamboo.

I was wondering what it will take to switch over so that we can use remote build agents.

This sounds like you are already using Bamboo with a Bamboo Starter license, which offers unlimited local agents, but indeed only 10 jobs and 0 remote agents?

You do not need to download a new evaluation copy of Bamboo (the binaries are identical), rather you can simply log into your my.atlassian.com account and request a new evaluation license, which provides unlimited jobs and a decent amount of remote agents to try things out (I think 25 right now).

You can then copy that license and paste it into the 'Update license' field in the 'License details' page within your Bamboo administration section. Once you are comfortable with using remote agents, you just need to decide on how many remote agents will cover your use case so that you can purchase the best matching Bamboo license tier. And in case you discover that you are not yet ready to upgrade to a remote agent capable license, you can revert back to your starter license at any time (of course you'll then also need to to obey the 10 jobs limit again).
