Replace bamboo variable during Script

I need to replace a variable {$bamboo.FILEVERSION} in a batch script, how can i accomplish that ?

I need the variable to stick. What i use it for is that i save the initial FILEVERSION in a Bamboo variable then i increment it with a script then i want to save it back to Bamboo so it can be used in the next build.

Looks like you're defining the variable correctly, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe the scope of the variable is incorrect? According to this document, it looks like you need to define a Global variable.
