How to execute deployment scripts located on a windows deployment server?

dexiong July 10, 2017

I'm a bit confuse by the deployment projects.

The tasks are executed by the agents but what if i want to run the scripts from the deployment server?

I need to be able to copy to files onto the deployment server and execute a powershell script (install/start/stop window services), supplyiong parameters to the script if possible.

Is the deployment project designed to be used in this way?

How about reusing a deployment plan with different branches?

Hi Anthony! How are you doing?

If you don't have too many servers, I would recommend you to install Bamboo agent in the same server in which you application runs and run deploys locally.

In my case, as our company has lots of servers and there is no Bamboo license with enough agents that would cover all of them, we decided to have Bamboo agents installed in some machines and, then, execute deploys remotely on the application servers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Cristiano
