How can I set up deploy triggers via the Bamboo API?

I'm creating a plan branch via this API: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Answers-Developer-Questions/Bamboo-REST-API-to-create-branches/qaq-p/477013

I'd like to use the API to add a trigger for one of my stages for builds from this plan branch - so that I can set up my full plan programmatically.

Googling shows me lots of people who are trying to trigger the plan via API - I would like to just add a trigger.
