Bamboo fails to start with repeated messages about systemInfoFactory

I got some odd behavior where I was unable to stop a fairly simple cron type job so I restarted my bamboo version 7.2.1 build 70207 server and got a 404 page once Tomcat started up.  I checked /var/atlassian/bamboo/logs/atlassian-bamboo.log and see it didn't get very far on startup.  First was a warning when it tried to load the system information

Caused by: java.io.EOFException: input contained no data

It seems to me that Bamboo is trying to read an empty XML file.

Would you please check whether the file bamboo.cfg.xml has content?

Bamboo rewrites it when you make a configuration change and if it fails to write after having cleaned it, it would then become empty. It happened to me a long time ago.

In this case, you would have to recover it from a backup.

I think you're probably right in general about it having trouble with some input file, but it doesn't appear to be that file in particular, unless there is something very strange going on.  bamboo.cfg.xml has content and is RW to the application user.  Any other favorite config files?

It may be the <bamboo-home>/xml-data/configuration/administration.xml file.

Looks like that was it!  Thanks!  I hadn't quite gotten to doing find <bamboo-home> -name *.xml and comparing it to the results on the test server yet because I was trying to get people up and running on the test server, but that was next on my list.

I believe that depending on your Bamboo version or the apps you have installed, the Spring Beans may initiate in a different order, so it may show different beans in the trace.

But the when it comes to the source of the issue, your trace and the KB one are identical:
