Bamboo broker , broker client url

hi ,

I wanted to understand what role does the broker client url and the bamboo broker have 

during and post installation.

As far as i understand, it is used for  connecting for job dispatching, heartbeat messages etc post install and during installation it needs to check if the port  54663 is open for communication.

Am i right or is there any other functionality that happens when the agent is being installed and even after installation is successful ?

Any information will be helpful.
