Emre Mustafa Oruc March 17, 2023

Hello, I can't get this error to go away. I have updated to the latest LTS version 9x, there I got this error. Now I have done a rollback but the error is back. Does anyone know a solution?

Hello @Emre Mustafa Oruc

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

When you upgrade Bamboo, a series of internal upgrade tasks are executed, including changes to the filesystem and the database. Talking specifically of the DB side, tables are modified to contain the Product version which is used to match the binaries version and the DB layout, besides many other DB schema changes you can have more information here.

There is no way to rollback/downgrade a version of Bamboo other than restoring the contents of your:

  • <bamboo-home>
  • <bamboo-install>
  • <database>

From a point in time before the upgrade.

If you decide to roll back an update you need to revert all three dimensions above and not only one or two of them.

The error you are reporting usually means you have restored the <bamboo-home> and/or <bamboo-install> contents and are still pointing to a DB version that contains an updated DB schema.

Thank you,
