Hi all,

I am new to Jira and not familiar with how to use Automation. If I want to create an issue in Project A (managed by external party), and once the issue is created, copy the whole issue to appear in Project B (master file for internal party), how can I do it? I would like to retain all the fields in the issue, and once the fields are further updated by external party in Project A, I would like it to be reflected in Project B as well. Much appreciated for your help, thanks!

Hello @Matthew Choi

As an alternative to Automation (that can be complex sometimes), I would suggest trying our app Elements Copy & Sync to clone the Jira issue from project A to project B and keep all the fields in sync.

The configuration is really simple, you can check the guide here.

The app is for free during 30 days (and it stays free under 10 users).

Hi @Matthew Choi ,

You can try this addon from Atlassian Marketplace - Exalate Connector for Jira, Issue Sync & Two-way Integration to clone and sync issues from one project to another.

Hi @Matthew Choi

I believe that if your wish it to copy the fields' values in a real time from one issue to another one on the cloud instance, the best option would be using one of 3rd party apps dedicated to Synchronization. There are many options on the Atlassian Marketplace  but from my side, I'd like to recommend you our solution dedicated to Jira Cloud - Issue Sync Pro

Using this app, you will be able to synchronize issues within the same project, from two separates (no matter what the type of the project is) and also on the separate instances! Would you like to see the app in practive? Please refer to a clickable tutorial: https://deviniti.storylane.io/share/sxa2hvcjwkam

Kind regards,

Hi @Matthew Choi !

I think you have to use "Clone issue" action in automation block, and then choose destination: https://prnt.sc/vlTMSHKb-EaP

I'm afraid the already cloned issues won't be updated in case of any value in a source project will be modified or edited. But of course, cloning issue is a perfect match when you need to copy all the values at once
