Goodbye AUT and thanks for all the fish

Hi all,

Simeon here, one of the developers on Automation. Many of you are probably familiar with AUT tickets that our team has used to track feature requests and bugs over the life of Automation and the fact that they aren’t part of the Atlassian public tracker. You can find examples of them in many places in the community.

I’m here today to let you all know that we’re going to be shutting down the AUT public tracker in favour of the Atlassian tracker and that you’ll now be able to find us (well, our issues :D ) at https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard → Automation.

The AUT tracker is from the pre-acquisition days when we were a separate company and now that Automation is integrated with Atlassian Cloud, moving to the Atlassian tracker makes streamlines processes for everyone. We did migrate across all of the highly voted feature requests, so you should still be able to find them in the guise of AUTO tickets.

AUT is dead, long live AUTO!

Hi @Simmo

Would you please clarify how that sunset happened?  As I recall, there were quite a few work-arounds and context conversations recorded in the old Code Barrel backlog items.  Did those items (and history) get moved, abandoned, something else?  Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy

Great question. I wrote an automation rule that recreated the popular issues into the AUTO project and then one of our PMs did some tidying up. So, you are right in that the comments haven't been carried across.

If there are any in particular, I can go and pull them out if they're needed. However, we felt this was the best approach because AUT was getting hard to manage, lots of duplicates and attempts to consolidate them just made things more confusing.
