We’re thrilled to announce the release of the Search feature within Atlassian Administration. With this feature, you can find the necessary settings and controls without the need to click through various menus. This eliminates the hassle of navigating through multiple pages to reach your intended destination.
Where can I find this?
This search experience is available to all organizations. Whether you have an original or centralized user management experience, you’ll be able to use this feature. You can access the search field at the top right.
What can I search for?
Our current experience allows you to only search for pages located in the top and side navigational panels. We now support specific detailed searches within pages such as Users, Managed Accounts, Groups, Products, and Billing. If your organization has an original user management experience, you won’t be able to search for Users or Groups just yet. Admins will see page restrictions based on their permission levels and admin type directly from the search results. This feature helps them avoid roadblocks in their workflows.
We’re continuing to expand searchable content to further enhance this feature.
How does this differ from in-page search experiences?
The global search experience allows you to search across all of Atlassian Administration. The in-page search experiences only allow you to search within that particular page. For instance, the search experience on the Users page strictly allows you to search for users within your organization.
Why Search within Atlassian Administration?
Over the years, we’ve learned that navigating Atlassian Administration has been difficult for admins while carrying out their administrative duties. Specifically, we’ve learned that some settings and controls can be difficult to find via navigation links, which makes administration tasks more difficult than necessary.
This feature aims to simplify the process of locating settings and controls, thereby minimizing the time spent and cognitive load on platform navigation. These goals ultimately improve admin productivity.
How we can improve?
We’d love to hear your thoughts on your global search experience within Atlassian Administration. To give us feedback, select the search functionality then select Give feedback. If you run into an error where you see no results, you’ll also have the option to give us feedback.
