Hi guys,
We're going to improve our DevOps processes and architecture, for this purpose we are considering using DORA metrics to indicate areas for improvement.
DORA metrics are the four benchmarks for software teams:
I know Atlassian's Compass offers the ability to automatically calculate DORA metrics based on integration with GitHub. Unfortunately, this is only possible with GitHub repositories in the cloud and ours are on the server.
SoI started looking for alternatives and Atlassian Analytics looks promising. For this purpose, in the jira project, we have connected our repositories with GitHub and we can see the number of branches, commits, pull requests, etc. All this information can be found in the "Development" field.
I tried to find this information in the tables in Atlassian Analytics, but unfortunately I couldn't find this field.
Can you advise how to access this data? Do you know of any other solutions that would allow us to measure DORA metrics in the Jira environment?
Thanks!

Hi @piotr.x.zyrek ,
DevOps data is not available in Atlassian Data Lake but that is something we are actively working on. However, if your data is in a supported 3rd party database, then you can try to connect to it directly from within Analytics. You will find details on how to establish the connection in the above link.
Another option might be to use Jira Software's DevOps deployment frequency and cycle time reports (though this will only cover 2 out of 4 DORA metrics).
Thanks!

Hey @Steven Drury
We are planning to launch an Early Access Program (EAP) for DevOps data. This will allow you to view data tables related to DevOps in Atlassian Analytics. If you are interested in taking part in this EAP, please let us know via the feedback form in Atlassian Analytics. You can access this form by clicking the help icon on the top right of Atlassian Analytics page and selecting "Give feedback". Remember to select the option "Atlassian can contact me about this feedback" so that we can get back to you.
Please note that since this is an EAP, data tables can change based on the feedback that we will be receiving.
Thanks,
Inder

@piotr.x.zyrek @Steven Drury : Devops data tables are now available in Atlassian Data Lake. You can read more about it in this community post.

@piotr.x.zyrek Haystack connects with JIRA + Github enterprise - https://support.usehaystack.io/en/articles/5264860-setup-github-enterprise-self-hosted to get you dora metrics.

The closest thing I have come up so far for DORA in jira is using https://linearb.io/

Hi Dilan,
LinearB is a good option, but have you also checked out Compass from Atlassian?
Starts auto-populating deployment activity and DORA metrics using one of our GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab importers. In addition, it automatically populates your software component catalog to help track all of your services (and critical details about them) in one spot.
It's got a generous free tier, and we'd love any feedback.

How you get the DORA Metrics into atlassian compass? We are trying it and don't fully get it to work using Bitbucket and Compass, maybe you got an hint or two :)
