Atlassian Analytics Updates - End of Year 2023

Hi everyone,

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to share our last set of updates for the year. Keep on reading to see our latest releases and what’s to come in 2024!

Apply to join our data shares early access program (EAP)

Data shares will enable your organization to export data from the Atlassian Data Lake or connect the Data Lake to your own environments or third-party tools. Our first group of EAP participants has started using the feature this week 🎉 , and there are still 7 spots available for the next group in January. If your organization is interested, ask one of your organization admins to fill out our survey to apply!

DevOps data and dashboard templates

If you’ve connected your developer tools to Jira Software, you can now access that data from the Data Lake! We’ve added new DevOps tables that are available in your schema when you include Jira Software data to your Data Lake connection. Earlier this week, we also launched a new set of DevOps dashboard templates to help your teams monitor dev productivity at the team, cross-team, and organization levels.

New Opsgenie dashboard templates and tables

We’ve added 16 Opsgenie tables and 9 dashboard templates that cover areas such as team productivity, infrastructure health, and on-call analytics.

Atlassian Intelligence (AI) in Atlassian Analytics is generally available

In case you’ve missed it, we announced the general availability of Atlassian Intelligence features across our products during last week’s Unleash conference. 🙌 Among these features is natural language-to-SQL in Atlassian Analytics. Not only does this feature reduce the time it takes to write SQL queries to the Data Lake, but it gives you a deeper understanding of the Data Lake schema. If you want to give it a try and find that AI hasn't been enabled for Analytics yet, reach out to your organization admin so they can turn it on.

Faster query performance and changes to data freshness for “Issue field” table

We’ve introduced the same efficiency changes to the jira_issue_field table that we applied to four other Jira tables back in September. As a result, you should experience faster query performance for this table. Similar to the first four tables, the data in this table will refresh every three hours, and may take 3-6 hours for the data in the table to accurately reflect any changes made to your product.

Moved actions to star and copy a dashboard

Previously, you needed to open your dashboard’s settings to star or copy a dashboard. For easier discovery, we’ve moved these actions directly to the dashboard, making them accessible to anyone, including those with view-only access.

Filter by products when creating or editing Data Lake connections

When you create or edit Data Lake connections, you now have the option to use a product filter. This allows you to narrow down your product instances as you search and select.

👀 Coming soon

Unmanaged account data - We’ve always had managed account data in the Data Lake, but we’ve been aware of the limitations this can have on your reporting use cases. We’re excited to share that data for all accounts in your organization will be in the Data Lake very soon!

Send us your feedback

None of these features and improvements would be possible without your feedback. We want to continue to ship the best experiences for you and your teams. To do that, we need to keep hearing from you! In particular, we’d love to know:

  • What data is critical for you but is missing from the Data Lake?

  • What dashboard or chart templates would you like to see?

Leave a comment or send us your feedback at atlassian-analytics@atlassian.com. You can also watch or upvote existing feature requests that you’re most interested in.

See you in the new year!

2023 has been an awesome year. We can’t believe it was only earlier this year that Atlassian Analytics became generally available, and we’ve released so many amazing improvements since then. None of it would’ve been possible without your valuable feedback and continued support. We’re grateful to all of you and hope you’re excited for what we’ll bring in 2024.

☃️🎁🎄Have a safe and happy holiday season,

The Atlassian Analytics team
