Live search within a glossary page

Sydnee Roberts-Crews May 21, 2024

I have just created a specialized glossary for DEI-related terminology. I want people to be able to search that page for a term but the live search seems to pull up responses from everywhere except the page.

Ideally, a user would search the term, and it would either take the user to the term or have a drop-down that would allow them to select the term. Is this possible? Do other macros do this?

Hi Sydnee,

I believe you have built your glossary using a Confluence page not a glossary app right?

In that case, Confluence native search capabilities (be it the search bar, advanced or live) can only point you to the page where the term is created.

To be able to search for and highlight specific terms you might want to check Glossary for Confluence.

In your example, you can search for terms within your page using the highlight feature (if, of course, you have created those terms within your space glossary)

Additionally, the app comes with a built-in search engine and deep integration with Confluence search. For example, if you would like to look for a specific term, you can enter your query and filter the search results based on the custom type "Terms".

I hope this answer helps.

Thank you! I didn't realize I needed an app. I decided to use the databases instead of paying for an app and it seems to work.
