There is multiple posts and threads about this now and it still the same issues across the board.
We still can't add a Teams channel to any projects and we still can't authenticate the Atlas app in Teams.
Interestingly they want to make users pay again in future but at this rate it's not looking like a useful tool if it doesn't work.
Hi Nir,
Thanks so much for the replay. On a good note the drop down menu is now working on Atlas to choose a Teams channel.
Unfortunately the drop down menu is showing only about 25% of our active Teams channels and quite a lot of our archived channels that are not in use.
@Michelle good to hear. What happens if you start typing the channel you're after, does it show?
Also what happens if you try connect the project from the Teams side?
I dealt with this last week, finally found a workaround.
Don't click the login button, it fails as you know. And then tells you to try the web-app, which also fails in a super fun loop of nonsense.
Instead, type the word login, which will lead to this pop-up
THAT login button does work and I got the onboarding flow. I have no idea why it got past that first hurdle when the other link didn't, but it works. So I thought I was good to go. Only to hit another blocker:
When I went to configure the channel connection, it acts now like I can't
When I go into Atlas directly to try to share back to Teams from the project I get this fun error
When I click accept permissions it takes me back to Microsoft online to authenticate an app:
I already had atlas authenticated...so is this now some platform services authentication? Am I falling into some black hole since our instance hasn't been migrated to the new platform services version of projects and goals and I'm still on old Atlas?
I don't know, but I'm really frustrated. @Nir Nikolaevsky Hope this helps the team debug what's going on.
1. After clicking on the Login button in the Welcome card you saw this screen like this. But it works fine from the login command in the chat. Correct? What platform did you use? Desktop, web or mobile?
It should work the same way from the command and the Welcome message. We'll check why it happens.
2. That's definitely an issue. We see related errors. Looks like that's a known issue, but there's still no updates related to this bug. We will keep this in focus.
3. As about the Approval required window it's another required part of being able to connect projects/goals/tags from Atlas UI. The reason is that installing the app via the API requires an approval from the admin of a Microsoft Teams tenant. Unfortunately, without that the app can't be installed automatically and there's no way to send updates to channels.
Thanks,
Rostyslav
Hi, @Michelle!
I am investigating this issue. We updated our logs gathering to be able to get more information about the this issue. Could you please reproduce this error couple of times that we could catch more information about it?
Thanks,
Dima
Hi @Michelle
Thank you for helping with investigation the issue.
A have few new questions to understand the situation correctly.
You have two issues:
1. You can't login
2. You can’t see all needed channels
Is it correct?
Second issue it could be normal behaviour because we are showing channels where user is a member of the team, the channel isn't archived or isn't private. So as result user can see only channels where the user is a member.
Could you check if in missing channels (teams) you are added and if it's not private or archived.
Also what MS Teams client you are using Desktop or Web?
Hi there,
Issue 2 - cannot see all the channels.
When you say user do you mean me? If so I have access to all the channels in our company however they are not displaying in the drop down when I want to link a channel.
The missing channels also change each time I close Atlas and reopen / swap projects. Sometimes it is a random mix of active channels and archived channels. Next time they will be a different mix of active and archived channels. Based on this it does not seem to be a user related issue
Hi @Michelle
I rechecked existing channel fetching. According to current implementation we are getting first 20 channels base on list of teams. If you search by the channel name it should return more correct results. But if you just open dropdown and scroll the list of the channels you will not see all of them.
We are going to look on how to improve this functionality to make sure it is more user friendly.
Thanks,
Dima
We're also not able to see the full list. The workaround mentioned above doesn't work either. I.e. we cannot search by channel name to return more correct results. It only filters within the same initial limited set of channels. For us it's about 10 channels. Please keep us posted on workarounds or fixes. Thanks.
Hi @Mark Pavkovic.
Thanks for your feedback. We will check what is wrong with the channel search.
As a workaround for connecting projects, goals, or tags to a channel you can try to connect them from the Microsoft Teams app.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks,
Rostyslav
@Rostyslav Synenko thanks for the update.
I was able to connect to a project using this method. This seems to work partially. I can get the update to be sent to my "Atlassian Home" Teams channel. The workaround doesn't appear to allow you to send the update to a specific Teams chat channel.
Kind regards,
Mark
The team wanted to clarify which channels you wanted to connect:
The app supports only channels inside the Teams tab. Connecting to group chats isn't implemented at the moment.
Inside the Teams tab projects/goals/tags can be connected only to public channels. Shared and private channels aren't supported. There's no functionality provided by Microsoft Teams to add apps to private Teams channels.
Thanks!
Same. This connect used to function but it seemed to stop working in mid-January. I've tried via apps as well as browser for MS Teams against our Jira /Atlas Cloud instance.
It consistantly prompts for the 3 step instructions (which all are already in place and worked in the past) and if I get to the point of a channel drop-down, the list is blank.
The team will check this case.
As a workaround for connecting projects, goals, or tags to a channel you can try to connect them from the Microsoft Teams app directly for now.
I hope it will help you at the moment.
Thanks,
Rostyslav
Could you please:
It might help the team. Asking it just in case.
Thanks!
@Rostyslav Synenko
For instruction set #1, I get all of the way to step #6 and the drop-down list is blank providing no options to pick existing projects. When going through the steps, there are no returned results in the developer tool so I think there is no connection between the project and MS Teams. I tried this both for desktop and the apps.
