🎉 New feature announcement: Custom fields in Atlas!

Hello Atlas community!

I’m Rachel and I’m a product manager on Atlas. I’m excited to be sharing a highly-requested feature that we’ve been hard at work on over the past few months. Custom fields on projects and goals are now available on Atlas Standard and Premium!

You can now tailor Atlas to suit your company’s vocabulary and report effectively on projects and goals. Whether it’s tracking a department, project budget, sponsor or project lifecycle, you can do all that now with our range of custom fields (text, number, user, selects).

These fields are chosen by you, for your organisation. They’re applied across all the projects or goals in your organisation, bringing the entire company onto a common language. The beauty of it is Atlas helps ensure your reporting data is kept updated and reliable, with a weekly touchpoint for communicating status.

Are there any plans to enable third party apps to bring some more custom fields to Atlas (as with Forge in Jira)?

Great news. I can see a load of teams getting more use on this. There are usually so many additional little tidbits of information teams need to capture. This will make it much easier in Atlas to display them.

Hello Team Atlas,
I wanted to know if there is a possibility to use automation for Jira also for Atlas fields, e.g. wanting to update a select field when updating a Jira field. Does this possibility exist or will it be implemented in the future? Thank you

Any word on a custom date field? It would help our internal communication immensely to be able to have an "Original Planned Date" as well as a "when we think we're actually going to deliver date." If we move an initiative from Q1 to Q3, there's currently no good way to passively communicate both the original planned date and the new one. You can find it if you dig in to the audit history for a given project, but that's not exactly something we expect our ELT to do.

Seems quiet here, but hopefully I can get some more information on the numbers of custom fields?

In standard I see there is only a total of 15 across both goals and projects. This is limiting for our purposes. Can we increase this limit?

HI @Carl Pritchett , thank you for reaching out. I am afraid the number of fields is limited today to 10 custom fields. Can you please email me at ynisanbayev@atlassian.com explaining your use cases and how many fields your org requires?
