Announcing the Google Cloud Identity integration with Atlassian Access

Atlassian is offering new capabilities for users of Google Cloud’s identity, access, and device management solution. Check out the Google announcement here!

We’ve got some great news for Cloud Identity users. You can now integrate with Atlassian Access – an enterprise-wide subscription that gives admins centralized governance and enhanced security across the Atlassian cloud suite of products – to help enable user lifecycle management and SAML SSO for Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, and other Atlassian cloud products.

Using this integration, admins can automatically provision and de-provision Atlassian users directly from the Cloud Identity or G Suite admin console. So when you add, modify, or delete a user in the Google admin console, those changes are automatically reflected in your Atlassian tools. This saves your IT department the headache of constantly updating user accounts and permissions across numerous cloud apps, and frees up time for them to work on higher-value projects. It also boosts the security of your company information by always maintaining appropriate access to tools as employees join and leave your org.

At the same time, your users will benefit from a simpler, more consistent login experience across your SaaS applications. SAML SSO enables a centralized login portal, so your users don’t have to remember a separate username and password for Atlassian products. Instead, they can log in with the G Suite account they use every day, protected by the rich set of authentication features Google Cloud Identity provides.

Atlassian Access integrates with a whole host of other identity providers, including Microsoft Azure AD, Okta, Idaptive, Azure AD, and OneLogin. Google Cloud Identity is a great solution for those with hybrid cloud environments in that it offers the ability to connect both your on-premise and SaaS tools. You can manage your user directory across deployment options and enjoy one centralized view of access across your workplace apps, streamlining user management if you have a mix of both self-managed and cloud Atlassian tools, for example.
