Simultaneous planning in Jira - try out the new Team Planner feature from SolDevelo

We’re thrilled to announce the latest addition to our Team Planner - Resource planning for Jira app: simultaneous editing. This new feature allows multiple users to edit a plan together in real time, providing a more collaborative experience for your team.

How does it work? As soon as one team member makes a change, it's instantly reflected on the plan for everyone else to see. 

The decision to introduce the simultaneous editing feature was our answer to some common problems associated with planning:

  • We are aware that it can be difficult to get everyone actively involved in the planning process. The opportunity to collaborate together in real time, can help boost team members’ engagement and their sense of ownership.
  • When team members work on different versions of a plan or task, it can be time-consuming to consolidate everyone's input. Simultaneous editing speeds up the decision-making process, by allowing everyone to see how changes are impacting the plan, and to adjust it accordingly.
  • Back-and-forth communication during planning can be a real obstacle and make it significantly longer. Being able to make changes together at the same time reduces both the need for communication and the time that it requires.
  • When team members work on separate versions of a plan, it’s easy for errors to go unnoticed. However, when everyone works on the plan together simultaneously, it becomes much less likely for someone to work on an outdated version or look past important details. For example, if a team member overlooks a task dependency, it’s much more likely that someone else will spot it immediately.

More about Team Planner 

Team Planner is a Jira planning app that allows creating custom plans together with your team. The app shows users and tasks (with information such as summary, priority, Story Points, and their status) assigned to them. Everything is displayed on a timeline, giving you a bird’s eye view of your plan. This can help you identify possible bottlenecks and allocate resources accordingly. If necessary, the plan can be easily altered - all you need to do is stretch the tasks or drag and drop them.
