Crowd User Management - Ep 3: Advanced filtering for Activation and Deactivation

Harshit Bhagat_miniOrange July 25, 2024

Hey folks,

Welcome to the last episode of the miniOrange Crowd Bulk User Management series. As we all know miniOrange Crowd Bulk User Management is an app designed to streamline user management, optimize licenses, and automate tasks for increased productivity. You can also easily import/export users, automate activation/deactivation, and simplify user recertification thus saving your license cost. (To view the previous episode click here).

In this last episode, we will delve into a feature that is surely a blessing - Filter users based on different criteria to perform actions like activation, deactivation, etc.

Curious about how you can filter out users? You can do so based on the following criteria:

  • Group: Seamlessly filter users based on their groups

  • Active or Inactive Status: Quickly identify users based on their activity status

  • Login Activity: Filter users based on their login behavior, whether they've logged in previously or not at all

  • Directory: Effortlessly filter out users based on their directories, enhancing user management within distinct organizational structures

  • Login Date: Fine-tune your user search precisely by filtering users based on their login dates

Apart from the filters mentioned above, admins can filter out or search users based on the user email, name, or display name criteria. They can combine multiple filters easily to refine user searches and extract precise users for targeted actions. Additionally, we also provide an option to sort the users alphabetically or based on their last login.

We learned about the filters we provide, but what actions can an admin perform on the users they have filtered out?

  • Bulk User Selection and Activation, Deactivation, or Deletion: Admins can select users based on specified criteria and then activate, deactivate, or delete users in bulk, ensuring prompt user status updates and streamlined user management. This optimizes user management processes and minimizes administrative overhead

  • Group Management: Add or remove users from multiple groups

  • User Export: Data extraction is made easier by allowing admins to export user information based on filters. This way, they can get all the user data they need for analysis or integration with other systems

In conclusion, our user filtering feature streamlines user management in Crowd and its connected Atlassian applications. With versatile filtering options and bulk action capabilities, admins can efficiently manage permissions, ensuring security and productivity.
